Bill Durgin

photographer bill durgin creates disturbingly serene images of human figures folded and collapsing in onthemselves until reduced to pathetic amorphous forms. his work unconventionally explores aspects of life study and the body's relationship to space. located within empty but not blank rooms, the figures are provided a narrative elevating them from being purely sculptural forms.

IKEA COLOUR BOOK BY Jason Salavon

chicago artist jason salavon creates artwork that examines commonality and averages in images. one of his latest project is a page by page reproduction of the 2007 ikea catalogue simplified to its layout and colour. the work is made by dividing each spread into its core blocks of text or image and filling each block with its average colour. the result is titled 'field guide to style and colour'. '374 farben' is an accompanying piece to the 'field guide', which is a light box depicting 374 coloured boxes representing the average colour for each page in the catalogue. salavon points out that, 'with an estimated 175 million copies distributed in 2006, the ikea catalogue is thought to have surpassed the bible as the most published print-work in the world.'

100 Chairs in 100 Days by Martin Gamper.

‘There is no perfect chair’ declares the designer Martino Gamper, who has been making a chair a day in a bid to make 100 chairs in 100 days. Using a stock pile of discarded and donated chairs Gamper creates his new chairs from elements of existing ones. By deconstructing the chair he gains a new insight into its construction and use of materials which informs the creation of the new design. The process is immediate, spontaneous like sketching in three dimensions. These chairs will be displayed in the Design Museum alongside some selected by Gamper from the Design Museum collection.

Mercedes-Benz Competiton : I HAD AN EYE FOR MERCEDES-BENZ BY JIMMY TAY

Mercedes-benz had always been view by many to be the world’s most safety leader. Moreover,In the increasing human population and car growth every year, ensuring safety had become one of the most important factor when it comes to driving on road. “I had an Eye for mercedes” is a road safety device that will be use to look out for pedestrian when driving on road. The moving eyeball-like design enables the device to look within the driver’s surrounding to and fro, from the left to the right to see if there is any passing by pesdestrian crossing the road. When the pedestrian is identify by“EYE” from a distance, The car will respond according to the situation and slow down the vehicle. After the road is clear again.the car moves on.This ensure safety, likewise preventing pedestrians and drivers from occuring from road accident,
In the near coming future,i would see “eye” to be an important lifestyle for a driver.Drivers will be able to enjoy driving without the worry of gettinginvolved with a pedestrian in an accident. Not only it could be implement to be used for pedestrains purpose , but it could also be use to be an day and night environmental sensor for Mercedes benz to switch on their Headlight automatically when the vision becomes dark,a camera security system for “eye” to look- out for intruder, or even a water spalsh-safedevice that is enables the car to drive safely by the help of “eye”when vision becomes poor.
Just like ANOTHER pair of eyes for the car .”I had an eye for mercedes benz” will mark an extra safety factor to ensure drive-safefor now and the future.
