the re:construction program aims to capitalize on the rebuilding process in downtown new york city by turning construction sites into innovative public art projects. this program includes 'best pedestrian route' by gro architects, 'concrete jungle' by tattfoo tan and 'fulton fence' by carolina cisneros, carlos j. gómez de llarena and mateo pintó. the 'fulton fence' is garnering a lot of attention for its radical transformation of typical construction site materials. the project was a collaborative effort by three venezuelan architects and designers. the project is installed on a construction site fence and will evolve as the construction progresses. this theme is picked up on their website, which will document the project in a similar evolving manner

atsushi fukunaga makes art that gives form to the formless, using a unique interpretation of onomatopoeia. fukunaga turns sounds, not only into words, but then transforms these words into forms. he also uses the japanese katakana alphabet to translate words from other languages, creating what he feels is a more universal mode of communication. the sculptures he creates illustrates these sounds using a variety of materials which include pencils, pens and paper. the sculptures are placed strategically explain the location they emanate from.

chicago artist jason salavon creates artwork that examines commonality and averages in images. one of his latest project is a page by page reproduction of the 2007 ikea catalogue simplified to its layout and colour. the work is made by dividing each spread into its core blocks of text or image and filling each block with its average colour. the result is titled 'field guide to style and colour'. '374 farben' is an accompanying piece to the 'field guide', which is a light box depicting 374 coloured boxes representing the average colour for each page in the catalogue. salavon points out that, 'with an estimated 175 million copies distributed in 2006, the ikea catalogue is thought to have surpassed the bible as the most published print-work in the world.'

Using a stock pile of discarded and donated chairs Gamper creates his new chairs from elements of existing ones. By deconstructing the chair he gains a new insight into its construction and use of materials which informs the creation of the new design. The process is immediate, spontaneous like sketching in three dimensions. These chairs will be displayed in the Design Museum alongside some selected by Gamper from the Design Museum collection.

i wanted the exhibition to tell a story so pieces were selected to highlight different approaches to the concept behind trash luxe, which is that designers today are subverting the notion of 'luxury' goods by employing cheap or worthless materials to make precious, unique and expensive pieces.

people have interpreted the show as being about recycling but it's more than that: it's about finding beauty in
unexpected places and about challenging conventional notions of value. the pieces in trash luxe are definitely luxurious but the quality of luxury derives from the beauty of the pieces, the skill of construction, the story thefound objects have to tell, the time it takes to make the pieces, the rarity or fragility of the pieces etc

Music influence our lives...the way we speak...the perspective we see things..it may influence the way we dress...sometimes influencing our everyday lifestyle...i'm not talking about fashion ....about the wow wow issue..but to the level of sensibility of how music had influence our lifestyle and mentality to create a piece of work..DE-sign (i hate to use this word) is not always about creating just a piece of nice sweet ....aesthetic.Look up in the magazine and u be immersed by the creativity style that the commericial world has to offer..be influenced and absorb and soon u will create a design that looks similar like them.Dead end to the creativity juice u had never know u had.Mind me.i'm not asking to stop reading all the arty farty books and stuff...it be good only for REFERENCE PURPOSE but not to extend of asborbing aesthic issue from the piece..things gonna end up shallow.Remember ..Your lifestyle influences the way u see things and probably influences the way u think when u create a piece of DE- (cancel) SIGN

Don't know u guys had heard about this or i'm kinda laid back or what ..happen to pass by a website that showcase underwater dining. I think somebody had told me before of a hotel that is half submerge to seawater.....hmm... well it's kinda a nice idea of having one of the places like this..but i think the interior design needa do a bit of furnishing and stuff.. and probably a wider space for interactive purpose..but not just ..... u know...showing this interior design of the restaurant that they are different from others because they are submerge into water and there are fishes u can view... well i think there could be a more of "A" space interaction and experience between human and underwater natural ....probably... or it could be enchance by giving the space a kind of fluidity form..and in terms of the colour scheme giving the space a underwater experience about it...that's why furniture do play a great role in enchancing the space ...introducing the space what is all about in here....probably in future there is gonna be a underwater pub,clubbing ,shopping centre and etc...come on... there is something more to it than we can see beyond our human ground level..Fishes said: WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF UNDERWORLD..ARCHITECT LISTEN OUT! it's 1200am midnight and i'm realming around and..........i have to book in early in the morning tomorrowww.........arhhhhhhhhh ..... had spend a wonderful weekend.....greatly motivated...learn and learned ... inspired.. building up my design library ....motivated and lots of things realming in my mind...... broughts lots of books and stuff and etc...blah blah blah..check this interactive hamster house which i brought in one of the pet shop.it's for the hamster to hunt for their food which give them an excuse to exercise and spend their time having fun while searching food..check out the sign board... was thinking of giving names for this little house...(though i don't have a hamster)....what do u name? yeah and happen to shop by ikea ...few days back ...they are having some closing sale or what and had brought a little pot and watering vase...was thinking of planting flower but don't know which plant to start with hahaha...but i'm not gonna use the watering vase ....gonna place it in my room as a sculptural piece. brought it since it's on sale.(victim of mass production....) and yeah! i brought this green little box thingy from daiso today...probably i gonna use it to put my pencils and stuff and use it as my mini bag...

Ndp is finally over.When come to think about it.I kinda miss those time trainings together with my friends and stuff.Though training is though,nothing gonna beat the honour and the pride of being one Guard of Honour for NDP. Airforce Guard Of Honour you are the best . Great ups to my buddies JY (my buddy standing with glory beside me,alvin the guy who we pull throughout the training together and made it through the parade orelse we gonna form another row of our own and march in the parade hahahahhaha...Up to this brother of mine.i'm proud of you.we made it to the parade.It's had been a long time training and we had come so far. I wana thank my parents esp my mum for helping me out at times like ironing my uniform and supporting me throughtout this period of time and coming to the parade together with my sister ...lots of love and hug.thank you sis and mum . Didi appreciate it. And other than my parents ,my friends too (zec,morgan and etc) for supporting me and encouraging me when there is a period of time, i was pull out for parade.Nonetheless i had not let u guys down! hahaha. Last but not least my girlfriend who were there to support and encourage me throughout these time.Darling you are part of the reason i made it to the first row. So u can see me on tv mah..hahahah I had done my best and had not let myself down.Thank you for always being there for me at times. (Girlfriend) hahaha

From wind to light.An installation work by Jason bruges.I was simply amazed by the simplicity of the concept yet bringing about an impactful visual and effect by using the very natural of the Green concept and implicating the use of technology. The light which is self powered by wind turbine reacts according to nature . So imagine an element that cannot be seen(wind) had become something visually beautiful.The turbine and LED modules are attached to their base by flexible poles which allow them to slightly sway in the wind,animating the movement of the wind by a digital,electronic means.So somehow it looks likes fields of firefly roaming above silently by the language of nature leading upon this beautiful piece of installation light.

A piece of public installation furniture which i did a few years ago. This installation piece indeed took me quite a while to conceptualize it and realise it to become a prototype. Some believe in this furniture. Some don't. It was really a risk for me at that time and i was told by my friends that if this piece of installation furniture is gonna be produce, it is definitely gonna create lots of commotion. Just a simple piece of flat sheet of design and ur gonna pass it out like this? THEY SAID. i just have to believe myself at that time.Mind me,this is not an excuse to avoid works and hassle to continue through the design process but it is all about believing myself and my own instinct to create my very own installation piece. This concept was actually derived from our normal daily public furniture that we see in our daily life.Many times, we would stroll in the public street or park ,being tired, and able to find a public seating and rest before we moves on.During that time,i start to question myself whether is it gonna mark the end for public furniture which is so static and lifeless or how would or how can i be able to create a kind of memorable memories to the public seaters when they sit .A kind of human interaction between one another, a kind of unique experience when they are enjoying their rest on public seatings.The backrest of this art piece design was created and intended to be a paper-like kind of design. Before you approach the seating .It happen to be just one flat piece of art work and with each seat on the oppsite side.
